Meeting a Leader {Fetus/Mermaid Tail]

It was a cold, clear day today. The birds were singing, the squirrels were searching for nuts, the sun was high in the sky. All was beautiful. Emerald had decided to relax by the beach, her eyes closed as she let the sun shine on her skin. While Emerald knew she should be doing something, such as searching for the Crystal Gems, and Steven, she didn't want to get up quite yet. She had had a tiring adventure of walking to do to get here. She supposed she would make camp here, then relax for a little bit.

But Emerald was also interested in joining a group. Particularly Mermaid Tail. Why? Because if she was a part of a team, she could use their combined efforts to help her search for her friends. Plus, she wanted to help this planet in any way she could. If she could find her friends, then she could convince them to join her in this new guild. They might not agree, of course, because of their nature when it came to other outerworldly beings, but she knew Steven would agree.

Suddenly, she felt water touch her feet, and she opened her eyes, glancing over at the ocean. It appeared high tide was coming in. Sighing, stood up, and ran her hands through her hair, shaking out all the sand from her body. Once that was done, she decided to take a stroll through the woods, humming. It would help her relax, certainly. And if anything showed up, she could summon her weapon in an instant.

What was a story without the freaky midget? What was a bridge without the hellbent troll? What was a forest without some weird fox thing that liked to maim things? Well?

Teemo sat within the canopy of the trees, staring down at a clearing. There was a dead deer laying there, and he had set it up for a trap of the dreaded Platypusbear. He wasn't going to play games with it, and could hope that it was a carnivore. He had been their for some time, holding his blow dart to his mouth, just a few hairs away. His body was camouflaged, hiding him from the world.

"Come on.." he would whisper to himself. "Eat it already..."

As Emerald walked through the forest, whistling, her hands behind her back, she smelled something, and stopped, blinking in confusion. For straight ahead of her, was a dead deer, and a platypusbear. What a peculiar creature, she thought, blinking at it. She then realized she was in plain sight of the bear, and did what any logical creature would: Duck out of sight. She quickly hid under the bushes, just enough so the bear wouldn't spot her. It did, however, lift its head, getting momentarily distracted from the deer.

Emerald hadn't noticed Teemo, thanks to his camoflauge. She glanced up, watching the bear carefully. It was such a simple Earth creature. Since she saw things much like Rose had, she believed every creature had a purpose. That included this bear. She watched it as it went right back towards the prey, curiously examining how it walked. These fusion creatures truly were a beautiful thing to her. After all, her kind could do something known as fusion. Of course, Emerald herself couldn't do it, because 1) She didn't have a gem partner, and 2) she had been trapped in her gem for so long, she still was getting used to a normal body.

As she watched the bear eat, she was unaware of the other creature hiding in the shadows. She kept herself hidden well, though not well enough so that another intelligent creature wouldn't be able to see her. Just well enough and far away enough so that the bear wouldn't see, or smell, her.

What a glorious creature. He was so oblivious to the world. He was a majestic creature with a fur that...

"HEY." Teemo yelled at the platypusbear, "YOU EAT DEER. WHY AREN'T YOU EATING THE DEER?!" He made exaggerated hand gestures towards the platypusbear and the supposed prey. He was disappointed in his findings, and could only determine his mission as a failure.

But he held his weapon in hand, still ready to fire away at the creature. He was ready for battle, but the creature instead sat beside the dead animal and poked it with his paw.

It was definitely from Pandora.

As Emerald studied the creature, admiring its hidden beauty and magnificence, she took notice of rattling in the bushes, and gained a surprised look on her face when a small, fox-like creature jumped out of the bramble, shouting at the platypusbear. She watched the small creature with keen interest as it yelled at the bear, whom had started poking the deer. My, Earth creatures really were amusing, she thought to herself with a slight chuckle, trying to remain silent as she watched the creatures.

She wasn't sure if the tiny animal was friend or foe, but it seemed to speak intelligently, so Emerald tried a bit harder to stay hidden. She wanted to observe them for a bit longer. Make sure they weren't a threat. 3,000 years ago, they wouldn't have been. But as weak as she had been lately, she wouldn't be surprised if they were strong.

He would relentlessly facepalm at the sight of a massive docile creature. He would only expect as much. He had always been given missions of great detail, only to find he was the that exceeded expectations. He was a fool to think it would be a recon mission to fight this animal is necessary, not some wildlife watching. But as it were, a light breeze would be carried through the forest, and with it, and odd smell.

Turning, jumping closer to the bear like creature he held the stick to his mouth once more, ready to shoot a dart into an eye and blind someone if needed. And soon later, he would skin his opponent for entertainment.

"Reveal yourself." Teemo would say.

Emerald would listen to the voices as the small creature yelled at the large bear, trying to conceal her giggling. Ah, Earth creatures could be so amusing and entertaining to watch, she thought to herself silently with a chuckle. But soon, the little fox creature seemed to hear her laughter, or perhaps it had picked up her scent, and spoke to her now. She blinked, and sighed. She supposed she wouldn't gain anything from remaining concealed, so she stood up, doing a little bow to the tiny creature, though it felt ridiculous. She knew how temparmental some Earth creatures could get, if not treated with respect.

"Hello there. My name is Emerald. I promise, I wasn't spying on you. I simply didn't want to disturb the bear," she said, glancing over at the lumbering creature, who was still poking at the deer, barely paying any attention to them.

"You must be another member of Terra. Ugh, you all are so inward." He sighed in boredom to look up at the bear that stood over him, facing the girl rather than distracted by the deer. He would look back at the girl, only to find that she was most likely tangled in the lives of humans and half humans and other mortals. Teemo was already content with his life. He was brought here because he died, only to serve Kaseki and his subordinates in another world. He already found the true story of the devastating demon that attacked his home long ago.

"You're new to Pandora I take it." He almost hmph'd at the thought of her being acquainted with the world around them. She spoke funny, and actually referred to the platypusbear as a bear and not a raccoon. She was in no way accustomed to his land.

Emerald listened, watching the odd fox thing speak. Well, it wasn't very polite, she thought, to call it a thing. It sounded and acted male. So she would refer to it as a male. She slowly nodded at his words, saying, "Actually, you're right, I'm not very accustomed to Pandora. I was here, once, a very.... long time ago. But I.... barely remember any of it." she explained, rubbing the back of her neck.

Reaching up, Teemo would be picked up by the massive creature, only to be placed on his back. He knew well how to convince the creatures of Pandora with nothing but a breath. It was however, the foreigners that he held a problem with. Even if the thing wasn't as vicious as he hoped, He was still a being of Pandora, and thus was something that was to his needs.

"Well then you best learn the land." Teemo was growing bored with her. She was forgetful, and that alone could pose problems for him and the ranks of Mermaid Tail. Perhaps she was better off annoying the hell out of Aknaid.

"Ah, yes... I have been traveling around the land of De Fiore for a bit... and I still need some experience in the ways of this land. I have been learning, though," said Emerald thoughtfully. She was indeed still getting used to the new magic of this land. It was all intriguing to her, considering she was from another planet, where the term 'magic' didn't even exist. Then again, there were lots of places that didn't use the term magic.


"Say.... you wouldn't happen to know anything of Mermaid Tail? You see, I was a warrior back at my home, when I was separated from the rest of my..... family. I've been trying to find a guild, or organization, similar to what they did, for a while, now, and I recently learned of an organization called Mermaid Tail. They sound.... like they could help me," she added. She was trying to be subtle. Though she knew it probably didn't sound like it.


(Ugh, tired, I probably phrased all this horribly xD)

People just call it Fiore.

"HA!" Teemo exclaimed and pointed at the girl. His face held a surprised look on his face, as well as extreme content. Even if she was thick headed, perhaps she could convince someone who was a better fit later on.

"I TOLD FETUS THAT MY PAMPHLETS WORKED." He gave a small laugh. He almost looked like he was about to fall off the creature from losing his own breath. "Heh... Well anyways..."

He tugged on the ear of the creature, making him turn slightly. "If you want to join, follow me."

Emerald was surprised when the little creature told her he knew where Mermaid Tail was. Was he connected to it? Obviously, if he knew where it was. Smiling, she kindly followed him. Subconsciously, she thought about Steven, and the other Crystal Gems. If she could join this group, then she would be able to find them. And protect the Earth. Of course that too, she thought, chuckling inwardly to herself.

"Alright, then. Thank you," she said, walking beside the fox creature and the platypusbear he was riding on. She glanced up at the creature, studying it. There were still many mysteries of this world she didn't understand. But she'd learn them. And quickly. And this fox thing would soon learn not to underestimate her.
