A Change of Pace [OPEN]

Halloween Town, the place of endless night where every twist and turn was filled with frights and ghosts and ghouls. The people of this town seemed to thrive off the endless spooky atmosphere that hung in the air like a thick fog. Not that Toriel minded. Though the atmosphere was morbid an dark, everyone seemed to relish in it, and they all appeared to be happy none the less. The people were of all different sorts of madness, from stitched pieces to skeletons to zombies and monsters that roamed out and about like normal. Toriel marveled at the sight of all the variety of people, and the very unique traditions of this land. The anthromorphic goat woman wandered aimlessly down the cobblestone streets of the town, looking about with wide eyes and a smile on her face.

Noire:

Noire had been having a hard time in Halloween town, not having much to do but explore and study about the other worlds in the new mixture that was now Pandora. though she was a toon, she wasn't used to being in such a scary place such as Halloween town but she had to put up with it as it was her new home until she could go back to her town. Noire had been trying to look for someone new to interact with around here, only seeing the same old people until noticing a person she never noticed before, a goat woman. being a curious girl, the orphan girl Noire would go over to her and try and start a conversation. "hey, miss. I am Noire, a resident toon of this area. what are you doing in this part of the world and what would your name be, miss goat woman?" Noire said in a calm and relax tone, not worried if the goat woman was a foe or just a regular person visiting Toontown.

Toriel was simply in surprise to say the least. Where she had come from, they did not celebrate Halloween. It was human traditions and... humans and her kind had not the best history together. Anything related to humans her people loathed, but it did not stop Toriel from learning about it anyway. All her times she spent away in her home, with her muzzle buried in a book was to learn more. So it was normal for the bookworm to come across a book on human traditions, Halloween being one of them. It had intrigued Toriel due to how... unnatural it was. For humans to put together an entire day to dress up like monsters and scare people? It sounded hilarious at first. But these were not even humans, yet they adopted the tradition like it was their own. Or maybe these people had the tradition before humans?

Toriel probally stood out like a tomato in a carrot patch; the only one with the bright, vibrant pink and white, satin fur, and most likely much taller than the other paterons of this town. It was not long before she was approached by a young girl. She had a lithe frame with raven hair and pale skin. Toriel gave a polite curtsey toward her. "hey, miss. I am Noire, a resident toon of this area. what are you doing in this part of the world and what would your name be, miss goat woman?" Toriel chucked, underneath her breath and covering her face with her sleeve as to not be rude. "G-Goat woman? Well I've never heard that name before... My name is Toriel. And what good observation; i'm not from this land. My origins are... uneccecary but I did travel here to learn more of the world. This seemed like an interesting start." Toriel gave another look around, and smiled brightly at her slowly growing understanding. "What about you, dear girl? Is this your place of residence, or perhaps you are from somewhere else?"

"Toriel... that is a really nice name, Miss Toriel. about me, i am a toon and i originate from toontown but... not this part of it.. and... i guess no one would really want me around anywhere either... considering i have no parents... no family and no friends... i am just alone, an orphan from birth. i don't have a home so i just sleep wherever i can, and i can get food no problem... considering people just leave good food to waste... i am still hungry after my last meal... " Noire would say, looking fairly hungry with her stomach growling for food.

"i need food... before i starve to death... i hope Toriel doesn't.. mind treating me to a little food." Noire thought to herself before speaking again. "Toriel... if it isn't too much trouble... can you treat me to some food... i am dying here... i haven't had food in over five days... so i would really like it... if we could get some.. please.." Noire said in a very tone, looking close to starving.

Toriel listened attentively as the girl told her story of where she was from. This girl was another one of these people: Toons. Toriel remembered reading a book on toons before she left, most of them making emphasis on how upredictable toons could be. Though Toriel just laughed it off, being in Halloween Town was slightly reinforcing that statement. However, this girl did not look like a toon at all! She looked like a normal, living human! But.. toons were toons, and they were probally one of the most versatile people ever, maybe even more so than humans. They literally could be almost anything! The part that hurt Toriel is when she began to speak of how she dd not have any friends or family, and was completely alone in the world. How she was an orphan from the day she was conceived, and how she was without a home and practically on the brink of starvation. Toriel gasped, putting a hand over her mouth in shock. The girl ate waste and trash to sustain herself! There was no way Toriel could just idly turn a blind eye to her! Toriel put both her hands on her shoulder, kneeling to her level if needed as she spoke, gently and warm like a caring mother would speak to her young, "Dear child, you do not need to be alone. I-I don't have much, but you can feel free to be with me. I do not yet have a home of my own, but when I do you can gladly stay as long as you need! Nobody... nobody should have to live this way." With that, Toriel would attempt to bring Noire in a caring embrace, putting her large, furry arms aroud her and gently squeezing her, just enough to show that her affection for the toon was not false indeed.

The girl was still hungry, it was apparent in her very slim stature. Toriel opened up her small, purple purse to see it did not have much in it, but enough to get some food in her. Though that would mean Toriel herself would go without food for a day, but she did not care. Noire needed it more than she did, and she could work small jobs to get the money back. "Y-Yes, of course! I do not know what this town has to offer in food, but what you want I will try and get. Oh!" A lightbulb went off in Toriel's head. "I, er, ate before I came..."  and toriel smiled brightly, despite the lie she told "Let us get you back into shape... Noire."

Noire would be happy that Toriel was such a sweet and kind Goat-looking woman that was kinda like a mother to her that Noire never had. Being hugged by the woman, Noire would hug her back and have a smile on her face, and once Toriel had gotten her purse out, Noire had gotten her one out too. "Toriel... i got a few bits of credit on me... so you don't have to spend all your money... on feeding me. we... can split the bill... so don't... you worry.. " Noire said in a weak tone, leading Toriel to a local food store that Occasionally gave Noire some food if she worked hard enough there.

Entering the store, Noire would be close to passing out from the lack of energy she had without food but would still carry on just to try and make a good relationship with Toriel. "this is where i get a few pieces of food if i work hard enough for it... and occasionally let me sleep inside the store after closing time... hehe... let's.. get some food... before i pass out from... food deprivation and... lack of energy.. " Noire said in a weak and quiet tone, barely able to keep her eyes open or keep moving as fast as she normally would.

When Toriel saw that Noire had taken out her purse, she gently put her hand over Noire's and said firmly yet calmly, "No, I do insist. Save your credits for when you are in a time of need. This one is on me!" Hoping Noire would put her money away, Toriel would follow Noire out to the resteraunt that she brought her to. She listened as Noire told about how they would give her pieces of food if she worked hard and how she would spend nights within the walls of the cafe after closing time. The story broke Toriel's heart to say the least. No child should have to suffer under those conditons, and Toriel wanted nothing more than to be the person to change that situation for her. Noire needed guidance, a loving hand to show her through the path of life. Someone to show her that life was more than scraps and struggling and hardships. Noire needed a mother. Mother, that word drifted through Toriel's mind for a split moment, and as quickly as it came, it was gone. Toriel did not bring it up again.

Toriel pushed open the door, stepping out of the way (which was slightly difficult giving her large stature) to allow Noire entry first, coming in behind her. It was a pretty well done place, not too dull yet not too fancy. A modern care with the spooky halloween twist on it. "Go ahead, dear child," Toriel said, motioning to the cashier. "Order what you please; my credits can cover it. Don't feel shy about it either, get all you can eat, please." Toriel made it a fact to be as genuine and sound as caring as she could, urging Noire to eat to her heart's content here. Toriel even considered grabbing her a bite afterwards.

from the knowledge of food that was served to the customers, Noire would order some noodles, Tokoyaki and a drink to get her some hydration back. Eating the noodles and Tokoyaki, Noire would be filled up and not hungry after a few minutes and would be finished with all the food and her drink, before putting them into the bin. "that was really filling, thanks Toriel. oh, i forgot. i got something to show you. toons can transform into anything, so i want to show you a transformation. it won't be odd or anything, just... don't be surprised, OK? " Noire said as she would start to transform into a younger looking girl with pink hair and a cute look to her.

Noire's transformation:

"Ta-da... this is... my transformation.. do you like it... Toriel? i may... speak slow but... that is how i speak... in this form... so i hope... you don't mind. oh, can you call me... Plutia while i am in... this form? that is... what this transformation... is called so... i would like it if you called... me that while i am in this form. " Plutia, Noire's transformed state, would say in a slow but kind tone with a big smile on her face, looking at Toriel like she was her daughter and Toriel was her mother.

The goat woman sat across from Noire and watched with a smile on her face as Noire ate. It warmed Toriel to see Noire in a more improved state, the color returning to her cheeks with each bite. Noire did have quite the appetite. Maybe one day Toriel could share with her some of her own home cooking, hoping that might suffice. Though it left Toriel with little credits, she was happy for what it went to. Seeing Noire happy only made Toriel beam brighter inside. Noire finished up her food, Toriel moving hte plates and such aside so the waiter could come take it from them as Noire began to explain about the abilties of a toon. With Noire being a toon, it seemed she had the ability to transform! Toriel gasped in surprise, and eagerly watched as Noire's form began to change right in front of her eyes to a more petite, pink-haired young girl. It would have been impossible to discern the two had Toriel not seen it for her own eyes. Noire in this new form spoke much slower, wiht heavy pauses in between every fre words, and asked to be identified by the name "Plutia", which Toriel was more than happy to oblige. "Plutia? Well, i will do my best. My old brain get's the best of me sometime," she chudkled. "Although I can say this is a beautiful form for you. Toons definitely do hae interesting properties.

Getting up from the table, Toriel stretched her legs and offered her hand to Plutia. "Had your fill?" she asked her. "Or was there more you wanted to eat. We're in no rush, but when you're done maybe we can go for a walk around the town!" If Plutia was in fact done eating, Toriel would lead her out, with no specific destination in mind, and roam the streets making small talk. "So, have you heard of a place called De Fiore?" Toriel said, trying to start conversation. "That is the land I am from. A place of magic."

Plutia was very happy that Toriel was so kind and sweet to her, Even in her transformed state which was much different to her normal form, and would pull out a doll from her bag and hug it tightly. "hehe... i am full, Toriel... your like my mother... Even though i am a orphan... hehe.. i don't mind a walk... but i may be a little slow... to walk or run... but i will try and.. keep up with you... Toriel." Plutia said in a very slow but cheerful tone, going over to Toriel slowly before grasping her hand and smiling. "is it OK... if i call you mommy, Toriel? i don't... have a mommy or daddy... so... i want you to be my mommy. please... Toriel, please be my mommy... " Plutia would say in a very cute tone, looking at her with big puppy dog eyes that were too cute to resist.

Toriel gave a bright smile as Plutia ate her food. Being able to help the homeless girl made Toriel feel being and warm inside. Plutia had said how she saw Toriel as a motherly figure, and went even further and requested for Toriel to be her mother! The goat woman was shocked at first, not holding back the surprise on her face as she gasped suddenly. Although the question was quite sudden, Toriel's face melted back away into a smile. She took Plutia's hands in hers, and said, "Dear child... I would be honored to be your mother.."

hearing Toriel saying that made Plutia the happiest girl and toon in the entire world and would make her hug her new mom with a ton of affection. "Yay... i got a new mommy... thank you, Torry. i will... be the best daughter you ever... had in your life... so don't worry... about me... as i will be fine as long... as i am with you. so... what do you want to do... mommy Torry? i want to make a dolly... of a few people... and i want to find a home for us... do you want... to do the same as me... Mommy? " Plutia asked in a very slow but cute tone, never letting her eyes off Toriel and holding her hand tightly as to show she wanted to stay with her new mother until Toriel herself would let go of her hand, leaving Plutia's hand to cling to something else

Toriel's face brightened up into a chipper smile, leaning down to embrace Plutia once more. The child was so soft and warm, as was Toriel's own fur wrapped around the small child. Toriel gently caressed her hair affectionately. "Oh, aren't you the ambitious little one. Those all sound like great things, we could have a happy little home and live together, would that be what you wanted? I could even get the perfect curriculum for your education and... Oh, look at me rambling along. I'm sure you would not want to live with a stranger so... Is there anything you would like to know about me? I will try to tell as much as I can," the goat woman said.

Plutia would giggle and have a small smile on her face as Toriel patted down her Iris hair. "Hey.... that tickles... i don't wanna... ask anything personal... that would be bad... and then you may get angry at me... then i would get upset and cry.. then i may get mad afterwards and... then i may transform which you won't like... my transformation is really... drastic... so... i don't mind getting education... or having a curicu...lamb? i dunno what that is... hehe... i am a slowpoke.... but you don't mind... do you... mommy Torry? also.... is it OK if i make a dolly of you? it is... just so then... if i am left alone... i won't get upset.. " Plutia said in a very slow and sad tone, clinging to Toriel and looking a bit upset, almost like she was about to cry.

"Of course... my child," Toriel said, getting back to her feet. She did not release Plutia's hand for a moment, looking down at her with a newfound warmth and happiness inside of her. Toriel had a new responsibility now... but she knew she would take care of Plutia. Take care of her to the best a person can. Imagine how the others in the Underground would see her, taking on the care of a human child, the ones that they hated so much. But Toriel did not care; it made her beam with happiness the way Plutia looked up to her. Toriel would be strong... for this child here. Toriel would show her the way to happiness. Looking out, Toriel took a new step, one alongside Plutia. "Let us take on Pandora... together."

Plutia would smile before taking out her own little plushie she had already made and hold on to it's hand, while walking off with Toriel at her usual slow pace. Though Noire in her didn't mind Toriel, She felt like something was off with her, like her presence had something hidden but chose to forget about it and let Plutia have her fun. "Sure thing... Toriel.. Noire says she is excited too.. even though she is kinda... suspicious about something... i doubt you have anything hidden... so let's goooooo!!" Plutia said in a very cheerful tone as she would walk alongside Toriel, holding on to her a little tighter, worried about what Noire was suspicious about was true.
