    Shirou Fate

    Knight of Pandora

Kaito hummed to himself as he washed the dishes. The young Knight found himself inside of Oak Town traveling with his frail sister Hana, in an apartment that the two were staying in temporarily. The landlord was rather kind about the rent, not overcharging them. Kaito made a decent living for him and his sister crafting weapons and armors for the locals sometimes. He had learned how to do as much for himself after all. A skill for any knight he had, whether or not he used magic.

"It's almost time for me bring Hana her breakfast," the young lad thought to himself aloud. Hana had had a little extra trouble lately with her illness - causing the lad to worry extra for his sister. He was working extra hard to make sure that she was taken care of. That she was eating, that she was well-rested. They had spent the night before playing light-hearted games (but not to late for her sake).

He wondered what he should make for her this morning. They had had bacon and eggs the morning before. Maybe something simpler? Like a bagel? He'd have to think on  this...

Breaking the Cycle [Private] Empty Re: Breaking the Cycle [Private]

Hana had been so ecstatic that her brother had returned to their temporary home. They spent a bit of their night playing games and chatting away, however he seemed to want to make her go to bed earlier. This seemed to make her a bit upset, but she certainly knew he was just looking out for her well-being. So, the teen would do as he wished and go snuggle under her sheets only to quickly meet her nights end as she was indeed more tired than she had expected. The night seemed to have been spent in peace, but sadly took a turn for the worse.

Her world grew cold and dark, however she didn't seem to panick. Her eyes would scan the darkened world for any sign of life. The more she continued to walk, the brighter the world became, and the heavier it became as well. Her breaths became slower and harder to handle. Then, *snap* the sound of wood cracking behind her would cause a lengthy, fearful turn around from the teen. From that point, her eyes would widen and the frame of her mind would turn into motion. Running, running, running. Her legs would carry her not very far before they would give out beneath her. Her chin bled, her hands bled, her knees bled, and her heart throbbed in pain. She couldnt stand, she couldn't walk, she couldn't even crawl, her body was now useless. She would attempt to lift herself up only to be flipped onto her back as she saw the face of pure darkness with rows and rows of terrible, sharo, shark-like teeth.

Her body would jerk straught up into a seated position as a scream eminated from her mouth. Her hands felt around the area beneath her as her eyes were widened with tears rolling down her cheeks. Her breathing became heavy as her body had just used much of the small amount of air she could use to sustain herself. The small teen clutched her chest as she calmed her nerves through breathing.

    Knight of Pandora

Thinking to himself while cooking eggs in the kitchen - Kaito was making a special breakfast for Hana. A sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheese using a bagel for the bread. Traditionally he made more healthy foods for his sister.. but he wanted to give her a nice treat. The doctors told him that it was fine as long as it wasn't too often. "You'd have liked Hana... Chi...," Kaito muttered to himself as he continued to cook. It had been awhile since he had arrived in Pandora with Hana as his only company, and he couldn't help but be curious as to where he would find his friend. Hana's condition made it difficult for him to search, but not that he at all blamed his sister for that.

She was the only family he had left after all. He loved her and didn't mind taking care of her. Perhaps if he garnered enough money... he could hire someone to locate her for him and pass on a message. That might work...

Of course this train of thought was broken as the former Rune Knight heard the scream of his beloved little sister. Adrenaline coursed through him as the lad reacted immediately sprinting (the fire on the stove still cooking the eggs unattended!)

Grabbing the sword on the wall near her room - Kaito immediately entered the room with a reverse grip on the longsword - the blade facing the floor.  "HANA!" he shouted with a worried look on his face. Immediately after scanning the room however- Kaito deduced that this wasn't an external matter. Oh no. He rushed to his sister's side. "It's okay Hana! I'm here... it's going to be okay...," he said softly while getting on his knees in front of her....

The sickly teen would have heard her brother yelling for her after her initial scream. Of course, there were many reasons for him to be worried about her terrified version of one, which immediately made Hana regret having ever done it in the first place. The boy would burst into her room holding a sword, which looked to be the one nearest to her room. He had placed them among the walls of the house to use in case of an emergency making the girl realize that he had thought her scream was an intruder of some sort. Had her brother made enemies? Was there someone she needed to worry about? Just what did he do out in the world?

Hana's breathing had calmed enough for her to begin speaking again as eyes locked on her brother who assured her that she wasn't alone being chased by dark entities. The girl would blush at her embarrassing nightmares that caused such a panick and the teen would look away. Through hushed tones, which was all she could muster, Hana would speak, "U-Uhm. I-I'm sorry. I thought I saw something run across the floor.
B-But it was nothing. It was only my.. imagination."
Perhaps, her brother would accept this reasoning. He worried about her enough and she couldn't bare to stand even that much. She wanted to be healthy, happy, and carefree. Alas, that's simply not who she is. Would she ever find anyone craddled in the safety of this fluffy fortress? Maybe, one day someone would sweep her off her feet and care for her as her brother did.

Kaito hated it when she lied to him. As he stood there dropping the sword to the floor, holding and consoling his sister in his arms, he remained silent as he listened to her lie to him. "Hana...," he muttered before trailing off. He let out a sigh. "You're my sister... we're all the other's got... I need you to be honest with me, okay? I'm here to take care of you... that's what big brothers are for...," he said. Kissing the top of her forehead gently before standing up tall. Extending a hand to her with eyes staring down. "Now come on... I made breakfast... I figured after we eat we could go outside and get some fresh air if you're up for it. I figure going outside for a bit might be good for you...," he said with a soft smile.

He didn't want her to be cooped up in this apartment forever. He wanted her to get to explore the world a bit with him, as strange as it seemed to be.

Hana would stare down at her covered being, as she still sat upon her bed. She would feel a sense of disappointment well up within her, as her brother pointed out her flaw within her lie. Disappointment, not in the fact that she had failed, but disappointment in the fact that she had even tried. "Y-Yeah. You're right. I'm sorry. I-I just don't want you to worry about me because you already worry so much. I just want you to worry about more important things without being burdened," her voice would say small and shyly knowing he would be upset in her reasoning. Nonetheless, he would kiss her upon her forehead, which would make her happy but would make her heart sad as well. She loved her brother no doubt, but she wished sometimes that maybe he wouldn't come back. Sometimes, she felt that running away would be her best option. Sometimes, she felt that maybe if she disappeared, he could focus on important things that she knew plagued his heart. Sometimes, she felt that maybe if she could find a way for him to forget, that their lives would be much more worthwhile and fulfilling. She was a burden and she knew that. No matter if he loved her or not, she was just a heavy rock tied to his ankle as he tried to reach the surface of the water for air. She was just a small, weak animal that he was trying to save when her death was inevitable.

The girl would rise from her bed carefully as not to make things too strenuous for her body. She would do so successfully, as the two wandered towards the food her brother had made for the both of them. If there was one things Hana wouldn't complain about, it was her brother's cooking because she certainly couldn't. She had never had the strength or the time to be taught how. She was always busy being sickly or having surgeries done. She was always too busy in bed and being a burden. However, Hana knew that being down in the dumps about it wouldn't make much of a difference, so she decided that she wouldn't ever talk about it. She would keep it hidden down within. As they had reached the food, Hana would smile warmly noticing the simplicity and the unhealthy treats in between the bagel. "No fruits today, Kai? It must be my lucky day," the girl would say eagerly and cheekily at the same time. She loved when she was given treats rather than the same boring fruits, vegetables, and whatever else the doctors recommended. Yuck. Nonetheless, she knew they were just trying to keep her healthy.

As Kaito held his sister in his warm embrace, he couldn't help but feel a bit silly. He really didn't hug people like this other than his sister. Outside of this cabin people saw him as a bit aloof and distant. He supposed his little sister was his weak spot in a sense, the person who brought out that soft chewy center deep inside of him.  Maybe it was because she was the only family he had left, but it was also more than that. Even with her illness he did truly think her to be a kind individual. She tried to be strong because she didn't want him to worry. She thought about him first even with everything going on, even though he was supposed to be the big brother. It was for that reason and that main reason alone that he didn't mind taking care of her.

"You're a silly girl, you know that?" he asked as he backed away with a soft smile. "What's more important than my little sister, hm? You need me for the time being.. at least until we find a way to cure your illness...," he would say with a chuckle. Even after what felt like months of taking care of her, he was still confident he'd find a solution, a cure to her ailment. That way the two of them didn't have to worry so much all the time. "Once we do that we can go on all the adventures we want, without worrying about any doctor's orders!" he said before the two decided to go to eat.

As they began to eat- Hana seemed delighted at the treat he decided to spoil her with today. Seeing her smile with a little bit of life in her warmed his heart, making him smile in turn. "I suppose so! Nothing wrong with spoiling you sometimes, heheh," he said while biting down into his own.

She still needed to LIVE after all...

Hana would think about the things her brother said to her while the duo ate their breakfast, but she couldn't help to feel a bit down. What was more important than Hana? He would worry about her until she was healthy again. She had never been healthy before, so what made him think she'd ever be healthy? Hana didn't believe that looking out for her was what her brother really needed. At times, she thought about going on her own so he could have more time to himself. However, she would be very lonely without him considering she had no friends.

Hana would finish breakfast more than likely after her brother for she was relatively slower at everything than he was. If this was the case, she would stand up in an attempt to take both of their plates to have them hand washed. Whether or not she took them or he did would not change the fact that she would find her way to a window in their small home only to see that the weather had become quite rainy. However, it was also sort of beautiful.
