Job Requirements: 1 C-Rank mage. 100 words per post, 8 posts. Defeat a Strong or Boss enemy to complete the mission.
Job Location: Oak Town in De Fiore, or Open Territory in Kingdom of Kai
Job Description: The Ira Orchard is one of the best apple farms in the world, with orchards all throughout Pandora. It's harvest time, so they're recruiting some extra help in picking the apples to sell. This particular orchard, however, is currently suffering from a spider infestation, so they can't even get in to harvest the apples. Find the spider broodmother and defeat her so everybody can enjoy their apples once more!
Enemies:
Weak: Spider Hatchling x3: These little spiders haven't even developed venom yet, so they are barely a threat. They deal C-Rank damage, and can be defeated by as little as being stepped on.
Normal:Venomous Spider: These spiders are much bigger than their hatchlings, and have developed venom. Their bites deal no damage on their own, but the venom it injects deals a C-Rank damage per post for 3 posts. Takes one C-Rank spell to defeat.
Strong: Spider Broodmother: This is the spider queen, and all the spiders infesting the orchard are her brood. She does not attack, but she will spawn a Spider Hatchling each turn until defeated. Takes 2 C-Rank spells to defeat.
Boss: Widow Broodmother: This is a particularly dangerous variety of spider, and a broodmother to boot. Like the Venomous Spiders, her bite deals no damage but deals a C-Rank damage a post for three posts with her venom. Like the Spider Broodmother, she spawns a Spider Hatchling each turn until defeated, and takes 2 C-Rank spells to defeat.
Reward: Two D-Class Reward dice.
"A spider infestation huh? That can't be good." Malm said, reading through the job request paper while walking through Oak Town. It seemed like a pretty easy enough job. Go in. Defeat some giant spiders, and remove the pest problem before they hurt someone else. So why did he have such an uneasy feeling going into this mission.
At very least he had the foresight to have Mouse watch over Phos back at the book store while he dealt with this. Something told him that the small rodent wouldn't exactly fare well against giant spiders. Just the thought sent shivers down his spine. He didn't want to see Phos facing a similar fate that ended up taking Flare's life.
