He clenched his fists as he allowed power to surge through every visible vein. "In order to ascend however I must put myself through a trial," he once again muttered in a low voice. He had a long way to go in the world of magic, and it was about time he forced himself to progress. It was full of people who could easily tear down Snake by themselves (though that currently didn't say much, as the organization was still low in numbers). He studied the root of his magic and what channeled it.

Naisu looked at the books of magical arts and the respective elemental magics that made up his abilities. He had control over Darkness and Fire elements, the norm with which he fused to create a unique kind of fire. But he suddenly realized how impractical that was. His magic could potentially be even stronger if he separated the elements, as fusing them in the manner he did only ruined the purity of their power. He was wasting valuable mana on a system that gave no additional benefits to it. It was silly. It was wasteful. It was dumb.

Naisu set up a target range. He thought about separating the elements of Darkness and Fire. This would allow him to form pure spells that didn't inhibit his ability to utilize them to their utmost potential. He was all mixed up inside and it took away from his potential. He had to learn to control his elemental magic. But it would not be an easy task. He closed his eyes as he felt magical energy surge through his body. He was ready.

Naisu held out a single hand, his eyes targeting one of the straw dummies he set up in the field. He began to channel darkness energy, attempting to create an orb. He felt the power flow through his veins, as the ball began to form around his hands. It emitted a blinding black light as he did so. So this is what a pure orb of Darkness Energy felt like. He would have to remember the sensation so that he could replicate such spells for later use. The projectile soon made it's way into the dummy, tearing it's head off completely. "That's a bit better," he commented to himself while making a fist.

The other element he had to practice was Fire. Fire was an element of heat, and was also an element of explosive power. This element was the easiest to separate as it had always been his primary element. He gathered magical energy in the palm of his hand forming it into a fist. Flames soon surrounded the limb and with a punching motion he blew off the head of yet another doll. He had mastered separating his fire element from his Darkness element.

Naisu had begun to understand the roots of his power and how it flowed through him. He was beginning to understand how magic worked and how he could channel it for his spells. It was a useful ability indeed, and he was glad to have it. Magic was a wonderful thing, and he had to be sure to embrace it. He began to channel his power all around him, feeling it course through every vein in his body. It felt good. And it was growing stronger.
The day would soon come when he could find himself at a level where he'd be satisfied.
