Helia Quèn

Helia was born the daughter of one of the top Robotics engineer of “the Agency” in Urban City, and just the top robotics engineer of “the Agency”. Lovelace Quèn had had an affair on her husband, and left him in hopes that her lover would be willing to spend the rest of his life with her. However, that was not the case. Even after explaining to him that she was pregnant with his child, he merely shrugged her off. Lovelace never saw him again, and Helia never saw him to begin with.

A months after, Lovelace gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Helia. Helia grew up in a metaphorical bubble. Unable to so much as leave the house! From the time Helia could speak, she spent hours a day locked away, unable to so much as see sunlight. Because of this, she became a sickly child. Pale skinned, and fragile. At the age of 4, Helia began to teach herself how to read by looking over her mothers shoulder, and listening to her as she mumbled her research as she wrote it down. After a few years of that, she began to study her mother’s notes. Learning about robotic engineering, and applied physics. By the time she hit 7 years old, she began to create her own robots. Using parts from her moths failed inventions from the basement, and crafting them into works of art. By the time she was  9, she had successfully engineered her first robot! She ran up to her mom, and showed it off. It could barely walk, and her mother kicked it to the side. “This kind of stuff is too dangerous!” She told Helia, “My little Helia can’t handel that kind of stuff… No no no” She would chant, further being consumed by her research. At that point, Helia did her work in secret.

One day, at the age of 11, she took her first steps outside. Her mother, having woken up late, ran out the door, forgetting to lock Helia inside the house. As excited as she was, Helia darted for the door. Taking her first few steps outside, and into the street. Not knowing the dangers of crossing the street without looking both ways, she was struck by a car.

Her mother came home to find her daughter on the ground. Heart stopped, brain unfunctional, hips and spine broken, and most of the bones on the right side of her body shattered beyond medical repair, and a blood-soaked letter from Lovelace’s ex-husband covering Helia’s face. Her mother didn’t even bother with the letter, and quickly got back to work. Restructuring all of her daughters injuries with robotic parts and circuitry, she quickly attempted to bring her daughter back to life. And to a point, she succeeded. However, it wasn’t truly her daughter. It had above average speed, intelligence, strength, however, the parts that weren’t metal wreaked of decay, and the vessel that used to be Lovelaces daughter had no personality, no soul. It was merely a walking box, like any of the other robots she had engineered.

So, she turned to something other than science, Alchemy. Going to a co-worker of hers, Lilinette Q. Mido, she begged her to work her Golem Alchemy on her daughter. And, with a lot of bribery, and selling Lillinette the rights to her body after the deed was done, Lilinette revived her daughter.

The mother was allowed to say a fairwell, and then was taken away by Lilinette. However, a nice price was paid to Lilinette in return for her mother, and that was a fraction of Lilinettes magic being left behind in Helia’s body, unlocking the Helias suppressed magic (something she had inside of her from her father), and little by little, every now and again with practice, gaining access to more and more of it.

Helia uses this magic in a similar way to Lilinette, crafting robots, and then reaching into the “other side”, and pulling out a soul to fill the vessel of her robot.

Now, over a year later, Helia wonders the unknown lands of this world, looking for a place where she can be herself, meet people, and gain real purpose in this world.
