As a new member of the organinization known as Mermaid's Tail, Emerald had been learning a lot more about this strange world and the inhabitants. She still wasn't quite sure what had happened to her friends, the Crystal Gems, or Steven, but she had been becoming a lot more proficient in this land's culture. She had started to keep what the humans call a diary, to document her time in this land. She found it helped to sooth her raging nerves. Yes, she could become quite stressed, but she found that writing in a quiet place calmed her down. She wasn't quite sure how she had stumbled upon this fact, but now she did it whenever she could, as she was often busy with missions.
It was handy, her gem. It allowed her to carry the book safely without having to hold onto it in a satchel or whatever those things humans carry around are. A light green glow would emit from her emerald gem, as the journal would appear from the sparkling light particles, and landed in her hands.
She had managed to get permission from the organization's leader to come out here to relax. She had found this beautiful forest, with great oaks, and wonderful creatures, and had decided to come to relax, and write, perhaps, for a bit. Sitting down underneath the shade of a willow, she would summon a pencil, and opened the book, writing down hurriedly.
Dear Journal,
This world is so strange, yet so beautiful. I love the people here. This world offers a great air of peace, while also giving you a dash of challenge and triumph. The creatures here are so unique and amazing! I'm sure Rose would have loved it here..."
Emerald looked up from her journal, gazing off into space, at the mention of Rose. Then she shook her head. The past is the past, and she had to move on from that. She'd get no where from simply wishing that it wasn't so. She had to move on, to the future, and figure out a way to get home. While in the mean time....
Emerald went back to writing about her day, the air around her warm and crisp, the forest bustling with calming, tranquil nosie.
