HISTORY & LORE Originally from the land of Desierto, The Lannister were weak communities spread out all around the Sandscape. They were often being picked off by larger more vicious creatures, just as Wurms, Sandverns and other hideous things. Around X625 the collective communities began to find common ground during the Two Hundred Years Of Death, a period of mass killings in Desierto. They began to unite under the name of "Lannister" which was the name of a great desert hero in common myth. With a larger presence, they were able to ward off most of the creatures and their genocide, however they were not immune to the harsh conditions of the Sandscape. Around the time period of X900, known to them as The Great Inodus, the Lannister came together with the Cheshire Clan to fight a great unnamed evil. The true story remains in the many versions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Their story speaks of a mighty demon who rose from the sands to inflict chaos and death to them all. The demon resembled a succubus and seduced men and monster alike. While the description of the succubus vary from family to family, their story ends with the Lannister defeating the demon. When both groups came together to fight this common enemy, it was said that the Kingdom of Glasgow was formed. They would begin to construct a large city out of rock and rubble from large rock formations around them. It was a time of great peace and harmony between the Cheshire Clan and Lannister House. They would come together to protect each other from the roving bandits and marauders from the Sandscape. Unlike the Cheshire, the Lannister were put into positions of political power among the Kingdom of Glasgow. It was the societies way of dividing power. The Lannister protected the city from the inside, and the Cheshire from the outside. As a result, when Cheshire soldiers were captured or killed, the Lannister Captains were often the first to be blamed. However violence in the walls were mostly verbal and very rarely physical. As the kingdom grew, so did their prosperity. Lannister were prized to be scholars, and often worked with Cheshire Scouts to uncover secrets of the world around them. They are mostly inventors, collectors and merchants. |
