It was a beautiful day in the port town of Drachenburg, home to the Organization, Twilight Dragon. This small organization had once been a proud and well known guild back on Earthland before it and the majority of the kingdom of Fiore had been stolen by the world of Pandora. The thought of losing so many comrades that fateful day, still made the young organization leader quite sad.

However, this town of Drachenburg which shared the name of her guild hall, was something that did bring joy to her. For it was a thriving and bustling pot town that was under the protection of her organization for as long as she and her guild remained.

Rin walked the cobblestone streets of her beloved town right after the morning sun had risen. Most of the streets were empty as most citizens still weren't quite up and about yet. The young elven woman had a good reason for being out in town this early in the day, or rather she had a few reasons. One was to go to the coffee shop in the central area of town for breakfast, another was to go to the bookstore, the third and final reason was to attempt to recruit members to the organization.

She made her way to her first destination and sat down out on the veranda at small empty table with an attached umbrella. There she waited for them to bring her Café au lait and chocolate croissant that she ordered everyday when she came to this shop for her breakfast.

    MEETING HIS FATE
    EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY.

His own past had been clouded and faded since the day their city had been taken hostage by this new world. But with the mystery of what would happen, the thrill of adventure filled his body. Now he stood in a city with a same name of an organization he called home. But here, he was lost in thought.

He sat in a small little shop staring at a menu of coffee flavors and pasties he had no idea how to pronounce.

But he didn't get lost in the words, but rather his own retelling of the hell of losing people he was so close to. He wasn't sure if wishing to leave this world for them would be the better alternative to the rest of them coming to this world.

He wanted answers, but still he fell short of a solution.

"Espresso." he said softly to himself, ". .  . that's not too hard to say..."

But here now, he needed help just waking up.

It did not take long for her order to arrive at the table. Her Café au lait was pipping hot and the chocolate croissant had been warmed up enough to make the crust flaky an the chocolate inside soft. Rin did take notice of a man who looked to be about her age or perhaps a few years older sit at another table not too far away from hers and order something.

Being the social butterfly she was, she thought having her breakfast in the company of another would be nice and who knows? She may just be able to get some recruiting done before finishing her breakfast. She grabbed her coffee and croissant, stood up and walked over to the lone man's table. She stopped in front of him. "Good morning, I saw you over here and wondered if it might be alright for me to join you?" Hopefully he wouldn't mind having a bit of company.

    MEETING HIS FATE
    EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY.

"Good morning." he would speak, his voice dazed and still sleeplike. His eyes not entirely opened. "You're more than welcomed to. . . "

He would speak, looking into the face of the woman. It was not every day that his gaze met the face of an elven kind. In his moments spent alone in the libraries he learned enough to know that the world had many races, and in this world, many elves. She was no Viri, but something else. That alone captivated him.

". . . But on one condition:" he would speak, reaching into his coat to take out a wad of paper and coins. He would lay it on the table, looking up at the listed menu, and back at the girl. He would take a few dollars of mixed currency and hand it to the girl.

"I need you to order coffee and the donut thing you have. I can't pronounce the names." His face would turn rose as he spoke, a color rarely seen past the tan of his skin.

The dark-skinned man greeted her back. Judging by the look on his face, it seemed he was still sleepy but then again. it was still just past dawn in the morning. He said she could join him, but on one condition. He wanted her to order for him the same things she had, saying he couldn't pronounce their names. He said so while blushing slightly which Rin found to be quite cute and without thinking, she smiled and giggled briefly. However, for him to not be able to pronounce "Cafe Au Lait" and "chocolate croissant" was rather odd. However, Rin did not question it. She simply took the seat across from him, got the waitress who was nearby's attention and ordered the same things she had for the tan-skinned man.

Once the waitress left to get the order processed, Rin turned to look at the man. "They should bring them out shortly. By the way, I don't believe we gave each other our names, I'm Rin Moriyama. What's yours?"

"Fate." he would say, "I think my full name is Shirou Fate."

His expression would hold confusion as he spoke. He was a former guard with much of his own memory clouded by dreams and reality. Being in Pandora for so long had let him lose a grip on what was real and what wasn't.

"Sounds kinda weird I'm sure," the dark skinned man spoke, "Everything is kind of a blur. All I remember is my family name, and working for the knights. I remember being called so many different names. I guess I can't remember which is mine. He would smile, and his stomach would growl soon after.

"It's early in the morning, what got you up before the sun?"

    Sorry for the wait

Normally Rin would smile at the response but he seemed as if he wasn't sure about his own name for a few seconds. He then mentioned that, the only things he could remember was his family name and his prior occupation as a knight. Seeing as he was in a town that was part of what remained of the kingdom of Fiore back on Earthland. It's possible, he used to be a Rune Knight. However, Rin could not be certain. So she let that thought wander to the back of her mind for now and went to answer his question about why she was up before the sun.

"pleasure to meet you Shirou, as to what brought me out before sunrise is quite simple, I do this every morning, it's my daily routine. I like to get here at opening before the crowd and have a nice peaceful meal. Otherwise it can be a pain if I get up later and then come here." She said with a nervous smile. Thinikg back to when she first established her organization in this city, she would come here later in the morning and it'd be very crowded as the coffee was the best in all of Drachenburg, making the cafe extremely popular with all the locals and non locals. Seeing as Rin wasn't good with crowds, she started coming here at the crack of dawn to avoid that crazy mob of people. "Might I ask what brings you here this early?"

"It's one of the few moments I get a chance to rest." he would speak, mentioning nothing about doing odd jobs, escorts and other mundane jobs just for afford enough to get by. He was poor to say the least. His title, his stature, his power, his memory, his wealth was lost when he came to this new and nameless world. Though, the city was the same, but the view beyond it was a different world. He could see the blood colored forest. He could smell the tea from neighboring lands. Everything was wrong.

"Inns are too noisy. Plus most of my jobs are during the night. What's morning to you, is night for me." The idea of adjusting his sleep again didn't sit well. But perhaps he would try to be normal again. . . for once.

    Rin Moriyama

    Savior of Twilight

Rin listened to Shirou speak without saying a word. Once he finished, Rin spoke up. "I see, it seems like you don't get a whole lot of down time. In a way, we're alike. You see, I run this city's guild, Twilight Dragon." Rin then pointed northwest of the coffee shop, up at the moderate sized stone castle. "You see that stone castle?
Its my guild hall. Granted, in the past before it and myself were brought here to Pandora, Twilight Dragon used to be a rather big deal in Fiore and its numbers were much larger. We were all like a big happy family, until that day..."
After saying that, the look in Rin's eyes turned to one of deep sadness, although no tears were visible, it was as if she were crying on the inside as she stared at her home. It hadn't been long before her and the castle were sucked into this strange world along with other parts of the Fiore Kingdom, however, out of all the people in her guild, she was the only one from Twilight Dragon that made it to this realm.

She had to have hope of reunion with her guild members, it was one of the only things that kept her going. She then turned to Shirou with a faint smile, with that sadness still lingering in her eyes. "sorry, I guess I ended up rambling to you about personal things, huh?" Just as she said that, the waitress returned with Shirou's order and set it down in front of him. Rin then took a sip of her drink, and tried to calm herself. She didn't quite understand why she spilled out all those things to this man. It was quite confusing. Maybe in time, the answer would come to her.

As the food would make its way to him, he would drink the coffee without it waiting to cool, and he would consume the pastry whole. There was no doubt he was starving and could have been better off in the state their world used to be in. The world seemed so empty, but with a new world, came mystery, and mystery came with adventure. Perhaps they could find a way back.

He would listen to her words thinking little of them. She was established, she had a title, yet none held her in that regard. She too had lost her following, her allies, her friends, her family.

"Like the royal guard." he would state his words, but worded them as if they were a question. "I may not be the most booksmart, but I know my way around. Besides, with a large place like that, perhaps I can be of service to you."

It felt weird to offer his help in such an odd regard. "Hopefully when your guild grows, I will regain my memories." He would smile, "And perhaps even make new ones."
