He stood there, watching. There was nothing he could do. If he went in to save her, he would die. The screams were heard as the building went up in flames. But he knew it wasn't Rin's screams, but her assistant, a foolish girl who rushed in to save her. Shirou knew though. She was already dead. It was by his bloodied hands that her spine snapped. It was by his wishes and hes doing that the small house was set aflame.

He dropped the gasoline container onto the ground. The screaming stopped. He smiled and turned away from the carnage. He would go into town. The woman was gone for good. There was no need to listen to her annoying voice. He had things to do. He was a royal guard when they were taken into this world, but he was no honorable guard. With enough money, he would turn away from crime, and in some cases, even aid in it. Here, he was king. It was his rule. All he wanted now, was a few pawns to do some simple work for him.

    He needed allies. Not servants.

    Just her luck.

In her best ditch efforts to find some fulfillment, Zinnia had joined an organization. It had been the only way she could think to help herself grow stronger, and to reach her goals. But in the end, that had just ended up being fruitless. The clan she had joined, a Dark organization that called itself Snake, had been dissipated not to long ago. Zinnia only recently received the news, after she had finished completing a recent mission.

The reveal had left her in shock. What was she suppose to do now? She didn't know where to start. And after her previous goals had left her in failure.... she wasn't where to go from here. She had agreed to sell her soul, bind a contract, and now all that effort was for naught. And so she had fled to the woods to ruminate about what her next course of action would be.

She had eventually come to the conclusion she wanted to join a new organization. But which one? Zinnia herself didn't know much about the various organizations within Pandora, especially considering they were always changing. The only ones she knew for sure were Legion of Neutrals, Mermaid's Tail, and those two other organizations she couldn't much care to remember the names of. Sungakure? Yungakure?

It didn't matter. None of these suited her fancy, anyway. Their ideals were not what reflected her own. At least, that wasn't what she thought she could share.

But she wouldn't get anywhere sitting around in the forest, no matter how long she ruminated. So she eventually left her previous location, heading towards De Fiore. She didn't have any particular goal in mind, but she certainly was keeping an ear out for work.

No doubt, if she wandered, she might be able to find news of a new organization opportunity...

Walking into the city streets. his eyes traced a single canine. It was odd to see one so . . .different. Perhaps it was a mage who gave up his body in search of a higher power. Perhaps it was a beast that was given power by a wizard. Whatever it was, it intrigued him, but not enough to approach it.

He would take a seat on a bench on the side of the road, staring at the animal. He wanted to know more, and perhaps it did too. Did it have a home? Did it know the streets it walked on?

    Of course not.

    He owned those roads now.

Even in this crazy world they called home, Pandora, it was still considered unusual for a wolf to just casually walk the streets of De Fiore. Especially unusual if said wolf could talk, and use magic, and was also much larger than the average wolf. She was used to receiving stares of confusion, and looking up to see people either glaring at her cautiously, or quietly rushing off in the other direction. And it certainly didn't help that she happened to be wearing metal claws, that made her far more menacing than she needed to be.

Sure, she could take them off, and if she so desired she could buy a small bag to put them in. But getting them on, especially without the luxury of opposable thumbs, was a hassle. And you never knew when danger would strike.

Zinnia knew very little about the city she was currently in, other than that it was called Drachenburg, and had far too much water than she liked. Luckily for her, she was only quickly passing through. Just trying to look around for signs that could point her towards a new guild.

As she walked, she began to experience that all too familiar sense that someone was watching her. Normally, at this point, Zinnia had gotten used to it, and didn't humor others by turning around. But something smelled different.

She glanced around, flashing glances at several passerby's as she kept to the shadows. Finally, her eyes landed on a stranger, several feet ahead of her. A man who was staring her down intently, with a look of... curiosity? No, there was something else there... but she wouldn't get answers from just standing there.

Not to say she hadn't gotten looks like this before, but this man seemed wrong.... She could smell something on him. What was that, a trace of gasoline? Peculiar.

To offer a treat or a gift would be insulting in the eyes of few. He would simply do nothing more than cast his gaze to the animal hoping it would near, and if capable of speech, was willing to negotiate an allegiance.

He wished nothing more than to have someone like-minded at his side. He preferred a slight difference to broaden his own perspectives on things. He didn't want a mindless pawn that agreed with his every word. No.

He wanted someone who was worth his time and his resources.

Could this wolf be the one?

For a moment, Zinnia's eyes would stare into the stranger, debating on whether or not to approach him. He seemed intent, his eyes focused and calm. Unlike others who had stopped to stare at her, his eyes didn't display confusion, fear, or curiosity. Well, they did hold a pinch of curiosity. But that curiosity wasn't directed at the fact she existed, or how she existed. Instead.... it was almost a wanting. An interest. A silent invitation, perhaps? She couldn't be sure.

Regardless of the reasoning behind it, Zinnia felt compelled to approach him. He seemed like the kind of person who might know something. After all, one doesn't just stare down a magical wolf the way he did without having knowledge of magical occurrences like this having happened to them before. And the only way that could happen was through experience.

Slowly, she'd approach the stranger, lifting her head up calmly. "You know, it isn't polite to stare." she'd say coolly, but her voice held a hint of amusement. Her interest was peaked, as well.

She wondered what his response would be, now that the wolf had approached.

"Usually it's the guest that introduces themselves." he would say with a smile, "You're new, I can tell. A passerby perhaps? I am Shirou. I am leader, mayor, owner and ruler of this city." He'd let off a light laugh, "People only come here for two things. Seeing as you don't know who I am, I know you aren't here to try and kill me. So you must be looking for a new home."

Everything he spoke, was from experience. Everything he did here was for his organization, his guild. It had been a short time since he had disposed of the woman, and he was already growing bored. He was a soldier, a knight, a warrior. He didn't belong in positions of power, he belonged of the front lines being powerful. Even so, he still needed to do his job. Perhaps the wolf could prove herself to him

    Everyone had an initiation.
