At Least Kind of Worthwhile [Private Job]

Venser stood outside the door to the Yamigakure Passport Center, fidgeting slightly. He wouldn't have admitted it to anybody, but he was actually somewhat nervous; he wasn't used to carrying any sort of identification around with him out of paranoia (even when he was still a Planeswalker), so he had no experience doing anything like this. Was he supposed to just go in and sign? Was he supposed to have called ahead first? Were there a lot of people in there?
The last question, at least, had an easy answer; the line was very long and easily noticeable through the few windows that dotted the building. Still, this was something he needed to do; Venser had to be able to explore other parts of Pandora in order to perform certain jobs, and to get to the other parts of Pandora he needed the passport. Taking a deep breath, Venser walked inside.

Venser entered the building and took his spot in the large line, glancing around. There were all kinds of people here. The little girl whose cat Venser had (reluctantly) retrieved the other day was in front of him, talking animatedly to an older woman whom the former Planeswalker assumed was her mother. There were several other citizens that Venser recognized from various parts of the village, and even a few other ninjas that Venser had spoken to around the Job Board. The only thing everybody had in common was that they were all standing in the line; even with the front desk working at full capacity, the line wrapped all the way around the perimeter of the building, through the various separators that had been set up, and almost out the door. Whether they were here for their passports or for some other reason, they were all going to be here for a while.
Venser sighed and steeled his mind for the coming boredom.

The line continued very much as Venser had expected: Slow-moving, loud, and generally irritating. As the ninja in training rounded the first corner, he noted that the line was extending out of the door now; if he had arrived later, the wait would have been even longer.

The former Planeswalker went through several different exercises while he waited. He practiced his handsigns, and although it drew a few odd looks from the people around him, nobody tried to make him stop; he also did a few exercises that helped him focus when he was learning traditional magic, and although they no longer had the power-focusing effect they once did, they helped to calm the crowd-hating man's nerves.

Venser also took to people-watching, a habit he'd picked up as a result of constantly being on guard; the people of this village, despite their strange customs, were not truly that different from the humans throughout the rest of the multiverse. This brought a smile to Venser's face; the more they changed, the more they stayed the same, truly.

After what seemed like an eternity, Venser finally reached the front of the line, and the Passport Registration desk. The woman who assisted him smiled genuinely, but was certainly frazzled; working in an environment like this would certainly do that to a person, the former Planeswalker mused. "Hello, and welcome to the Passport Registration Center," the woman said cheerfully, although she was definitely straining herself to do so. "Please fill out this sheet."
She pulled out a sheet filled with information that the Urban City resident would not likely be able to fake; fortunately, he had a trick up his sleeve. Reaching into his pocket, Venser pulled out a letter sealed with the Kuraikage's seal. "I was told to give this to you," he said softly, handing it to the woman.
Her eyes widened slightly before her grin grew wider. "Oh! Venser, was it? Miss Chikai said you would be coming," she said, likely happy that she wouldn't have to wait for another person to fill out the sheet. "We were informed of your...unique situation. Wait just a moment, I'll take care of everything." She ran off to speak with what looked to be her boss, leaving Venser to wait for just a minute more.

The woman came back a few minutes later, a passport in hand. "Here you go, Venser," she said, holding out the passport. Venser gratefully took it, glad that this was finally coming to an end. "You may not be a Yamigakure resident," she continued happily, "But Miss Chikai trusts you. That's good enough for most of us." She pulled out a stamp and placed it on the open space in Venser's passport, cementing it's legitimacy. "That should take care of it!" The woman said cheerfully. "If you ever need anything else, don't hesitate to come here and ask. Thank you!"
Venser nodded politely, smiled, and thanked the woman as well, then bolted out of the building, clutching his passport tightly. He leaned against the wall outside the door, panting heavily; he had been incredibly nervous in there. Crowds, tight spaces, and being given differential treatment; three things that the ninja in training hated, all under one roof. At least it was over with; he had his passport, and hopefully he would never need to return there again.
