Cold Shoulder [Invite]

Aknaid pressed on, enduring the cold. He was wrapped up in various articles of clothing, protecting himself from the frost. He had grown used to the ice, as it was the element his father would toy for amusement. He thought about the childhood he didn't spend with him, for he lived in am alternate timeline. He grew up with his father dead, buried, and his soul nonphysical. It was by his own doing that he took it upon him to change his own past, his own fate, and travel back in time to save his father. His mother was there at the time of that great battle... and once Aknaid died, so did the child from existence in her womb. Time was being rewritten. And the Demon of Life gave a second breath to his son, the Demon of Time. This was an odd burden to live with, to be raised as a child at the age of his early twenties. His parents made up for it, as Pandora was empty. Aknaid couldn't help but feel happy to know that Urban City was Aknaid's birthday present. It was his gift. But at the time he disliked the silence and the emptiness. He begged his father for people to enjoy the city with him, as as he wished, Tenshioni was created. But she was not enough for his child. So Kaseki made him another creation. The very think Aknaid hated... and that he wasn't sure if he loved his father for doing so.

Years past as the three lived in that city, building things to hide themselves from the other. And as Pandora begun to fill with souls, Aknaid opened up his walls to the wanderers.

"You are an interesting man, Kaseki." Aknaid said as he pushed through the light snow, "... thank you for being my father."

A black haired woman could be seen trudging through the thick snow as she made her way through Frostbite Falls to a destination unknown. As to what had led her there, one could say it was but a spur of the moment idea. The woman trudged on as the cold wind whipped her hair around and the air seemed to nip her rosy red cheeks. Bea was not a fan of of the cold climates much preferring the hot temperatures so it was unusual for her to be there at all. Currently, her mind was occupied with thoughts about her life before Pandora and life after making her walk through the snow easier to bear. For what seemed like hours, the freedom fighter was able to pick out a figure walking a mile or two away from her current location. With ease, she slid from her position down the column of snow to walk with the stranger. Within proximity, she called out towards the stranger. "Greetings. Could you wait but a moment..?" Perhaps he or she heard her and would slow down. Company was always nice after all.

Aknaid turned at the voice. Why... He remembered that voice... the voice of an angel. He turned, and had a grin that only a freaky humanoid insect the had a metal (and mental) tree for a father could do. Bea was the wife of his son... Whatever creature he really was. "Now, I believe I have enough time." he said.

He respected the girl. She was suitable for many things, and to be the mother of his granddaughter, was something he was proud of. His family never made any logic. But with life came Death. Death being his own grandfather. And well... they were ageless in more ways than one.

The stranger stopped and turned towards her with a grin upon his face. Bea drew closer and noticed that it wasn't a stranger at all but her father-in-law, Aknaid. "Now, I believe I have enough time." Aknaid said making Bea smile at the time reference. Time, it was what Aknaid was. Aknaid was the demon of Time, son of the Demon of Life. He was the father of her husband Ramen, the demon of Logic, and grandfather to their daughter Yuna, the demon of Youth. It may be that Bea herself held no title in the family, but they had accepted her. Aknaid had been the most welcoming of all and, for that, she was indeed grateful. "What brings you to this foresaken place?" she asked curiosly, gesturing to all the snow and miles of wintery desert. "A simply walk or something else?" In this family, she had long since learned that everything was not so simple. It all held other meaning. Especially in the land of Pandora. "May I accomnpany you?" she asked Aknaid out of respect. If he had private matters to attend to, she did not wish to intrude. Still, she hoped he would accept her company through all the snow.

"What brings you to this foresaken place?" Bea had asked. Aknaid thought about the answer. After all the years of fighting, he had forgotten why. "A simply walk or something else?" She continued. Aknaid felt the shell of his being echo. There was no feeling anymore. All he had left was his mind. He was hollow, with nothing to fill. "May I accompany you?

"Of course you may."

Aknaid had been thinking about how he grew up as a child. It was another time, one world where Pandora didn't exist. One where Kaseki died. Aknaid defended his father with all of his heart and soul. That battle was between Kaseki and Kodai... the one time Kodai was freed from Kaseki. He gave up his life to protect life. And in turn, he gained time for sacrificing time. That was the curse his family shared. Even his mother, Xiaowei, gave up her love, to find love. And his granddaughter, Yuna, gave her age, to protect an era. Ramen... yeah, well Ramen was Ramen.

But in this, Aknaid had only one goal... to destroy Nameless. The soul without a body.

Bea waited upon his reponse. "Of course you may." He finally said. Bea nodded. If he wished not to discuss further his being there, so be it. The freedom fighter looked down upon the white, mounds of snow then up towards the horizon. The place would have been nice if not for her dislike towards the cold. Fire was her home and so the heat was her heaven. "Frostbite Falls..." she whispered to herself. "It lives up to its name." She turned to Aknaid. "]"How are things with the Legion?" she asked him. She cared not much for it, But Yuna... Yuna was there and Bea cared for her. She was her daughter after all. "What are your plans for the Agency?".

"Frostbite Falls," Aknaid said, taking a walk with his stick, "... was named after the cave my father was born in. It was a cold damp place, with only his brother, and his gift of fire to keep him warm. It was named so, after the many animals he tried to care for... died of frostbite." He looked at the girl and her questions. "This war will end, and I will be there to kill them all. Every last one of them. Too many people have gone missing. And too many times I have fought Nameless. So many fights were fought, where we were both seconds away from death... only to live to the next day."

Aknaid didn't want to admit it, but he felt attached to Nameless. He always wondered why he had been saved rather than killed that day. He wanted to thank him... but that would mean he was defeated.
