[Invite/Job] The Academy!

Shini stood outside of the great building with the crowds of children and their parents. They were all no more than 9 years of age, with few exceptions of kids in their late teens. This was the Ninja Academy, not the basic academy. These were kids who learned every technique and handsign possible. This was where they learned about how to preform jitsus. This was Shini's domain.

1. Love the village and hope to help preserve peace and prosperity.
   
2. Have a mind that will not yield, able to endure hard training and work.
   
3. Be healthy in mind and body.
   

Those were the rules she lived by. Those were the rules of her academy. Her friends, the only people she knew was Kabuto and Kusatta. Kabuto, was an orphan like her. They, in a sense, became each other's family. It was Kusatta Kurada who had the family, the family that took in thse lost children like their own. And so Shini looked upon these new ninja, young ninja. It was the firs class since they ended up in Pandora.

"Attention, Academy!" Shini yelled with a commanding voice. She had a class to start and ninjas to train. "You best come here with an open heart and open mind. You must work hard to learn. You must love Yamigakure and all of our people. I will be your teacher. Promise me this, and you all will be shinobi!"

And with that, all of the kids cheered and gathered around their teacher...

All but one man.

Venser stood apart from the crowd, his eyes watching Shini carefully and analytically. Despite having spent some time with her in the past few months, this was the first time he was seeing her as a leader. She was a curious one, that was for sure; the whole village seemed to look up to her, and she certainly seemed to be a confident leader, but Venser felt as though there was a piece of the puzzle missing. What could have happened in the past that would turn this young girl into an iron-willed leader? Either she was an amazing prodigy (which was still possible), or he was missing something.

He shook his head again, clearing out the extraneous thoughts. This was a moment of some importance for him; since the loss of his magic, he had been researching ways to regain some of the power he'd lost. This Academy, for teaching Ninjitsu to the people of this village, seemed like the simplest option. Of course, he wasn't positive as to what the training would entail, but after what he had just experienced back in the City, there wasn't much that would turn him away.

Shini led her gathering of students into the academy. A few other teachers followed. This was important, and Venser would be here for this. Shini thought back to the small glimpses of her past. She had overcome strange things over the past years. The very thing that killed all of her friends... All but one.

Shini spun to face her new students, finding them at her feet, all eager to learn. It surprised her. He felt the memories of the lost Team Six flow back into her mind. She had to hold back the tears. The stronger she was, the stronger her village would be. It was for Konoha... no.. For Yamigakure.

Meanwhile..

A small boy trailed behind the group. He reached out to a strange man. He grabbed his hand. "C'mon mister, you're gonna miss Lady Chikai's training! She's the best Ijutsu ninja in the world!" he was small and very young. He seemed eager to learn, and he had been watching the man since he arrived. "C'mon!"
he said as he pulled him into the direction of the teacher.

Venser tensed up a bit through habit as the young boy grabbed him, only forcing himself to relax after he allowed the boy to lead him towards the group. This isn't Zendikar or Jund, or that damned City for that matter, Venser reminded himself as he pulled his grip from the young boy and took a position leaning on a pillar a short ways away from the group of kids. Not everything here is out for my blood. I have to remember that.

That being said, he was quickly becoming more interested in Shini by the second. He had studied enough about this world to know that Ijutsu was this society's form of healing magic; of course, he already knew she was proficient in it, having healed him back from the brink. What he was more interested in was how she inspired such loyalty even in these small children. To inspire devotion and praise in not just adults, but children as well took a gentle spirit combined with an iron will; even in Venser's exploration of the planes, there were fewer than five people he'd met who had this perfect storm of personality. Shini was quickly shaping up to be a fascinating person; he was looking forward to studying under her.

Shini pulled out a small stack of papers. All of the children's eyes opened with amusement at the sight. "Before we get started, it is important to know what Chakra Release you have. Even though you may not know how to preform any, you must know." She held them for all of the children to see. The Charkra Paper would should them many things. She had to explain the results. "Fire Release, your paper will ignite. Don't worry, it never hurts. Wind Release, your paper will split in half. Nothing more to add. Lightning or Shock Release, your paper will wrinkle around your fingers. Earth Release, you paper will turn to dirt and crumble away. Water Release, your paper will grow moist and damp." With that, she started to separate the papers. She was careful in doing so, eliminating all energy in her hands. "These are the basic elements, as you master your element, you can access the powers of the rest. Now, who is ready?"

"Me, Lady Chikai!"
"Me! I do!"
"I wanna find out!"
"... What?"

And with that, Shini handed out the papers.

'Chakra Paper' :

Venser took the paper from Shini slowly, eyeing it carefully. Was there something special about this little piece of paper that made it ideal for identifying people's elemental chakra affinities? He would have to ask about it or research it later. For now, the most important thing was figuring out which element he was. Venser closed his eyes and concentrated. Welling up chakra was fundamentally different from bringing up magical energy; in a way, Venser was glad about that fact, since it prevented him from getting the two mixed up through habit. He refocused his mind as he built up chakra in his hand, watching the paper intensely to view the results.

'Chakra Paper' :

Shini watched as the students activated the paper. Some instantly, others took a bit longer. She watched as Venser's paper ignited in his fingers. She grabbed a paper herself and charged it with energy. The paper crinkled and ignited from the center. "It appears this class shares something with me after all.~" she said light heartedly. She made a movement with her hand telling the kids to stand up and follow. Shini smiled as she took a few steps toward the school, sliding the door open. "Now it's time to learn." She said, disappearing into the building. In a flash of smoke she disappeared. Some of the kids were awed, while others disappointed.

"Wow! Cool!"
"I wanna do that!"
"... Does this mean we have to find her?"

And so the first lesson began.

Venser did not react as he followed Shini outside; his mind was too busy racing with the possibilities of his chakra nature. Fire...it was an interesting element, and one that certainly fit him as a person. Burning with passion, a desire for knowledge and learning...yes, it was rather fitting. Would it affect his long-term plans of using chakra to mimic his previous magic? Perhaps, but it was too soon to tell for sure. For now, however, he should focus on the class.

He tuned into reality once again just in time to see Shini vanish from site. He didn't react; one of his colleagues through the years had a habit of doing a similar thing, although his was flashier than a simple poof. Did she expect them to find her? Probably; from what he knew, she was more the type to lead by example than to lecture in a classroom. She wouldn't have gone far, though; that would have been too tough on the child students that she was also teaching. On the other hand, Venser had no idea what areas she might have gone to; while he had a general idea of the village's layout, he barely knew any specific places, let alone ones that Shini would have singled out.

In this case, the Academy building behind them seemed like a likely place for her to hide, as well as the roofs and areas around the surrounding buildings. He turned and walked off quickly to search for her in those places; he hoped that he could find her before one of the other students did, as losing to a child would be somewhat embarrassing.

"Weeeeee~~" Minito yelled as she ran through the halls, "I'm gonna learn that technique first!" She was a small girl, dressed in green. She was originally from Sunagakure, the Sand village. Her family moved to Konohagakure to protect the Kazekage and the Hokage. And now they protected Shini.

"Why couldn't she have done this somewhere else... I'm horrible at hide and seek." It was Kenkiro, a small boy. He was dressed in a red robe and was from the Kumogakure Village, the cloud village. He was brought to the village for the Chunin exams, something that the Hokage was supposed to lead, but then the great war changed that.

"Oh a game to test out skills?" said the small boy, "This means we learn the Body Flicker technique first." he was the one that pulled Venser to get with the class. He was a small boy, in an odd black shirt that bore something on his back that looked like a fishing bob. "C'mon Venser, it's a mission. Let's do this."

Water. Earth. Fire. Those were the elements of these kids. And these three were the first to go in after Shini.

Venser was already almost in the building again, but he froze when his name was brought up. He turned slowly to face the boy in the black shirt, his face unreadable. "How do you know my name?" He asked softly; despite his voice being mostly healed, he still disliked talking loudly around strangers, so he kept his voice low. "You can answer that later. For now, the focus should be on finding Shini. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders, and you seem to know a decent amount about our teacher based on how you were talking earlier. Do you have any idea where she would have gone? I can't get anything more specific than this general area."

"C'mon Kenkiro! Let's find Lady Shini!" Minito cried out in a near laughter. She was lighthearted and always saw the best in life. It was also because she was a child, they all looked at the world in an interested manner. She admired Shini because she was a girl, and she was in charge. She wanted to be like her one day. "I wish I could have stayed home..." Kenkiro complained as he followed her close behind. The kids were beginning to choose partners, and it seemed that only the boy and Venser were last to be chosen. He laughed at Venser's hoarse voice, or whatever the word was, it amused him. "I heard about you from my mother, who happened to be a close person to Shini." he started, "Now if you were a teacher for an academy for ninja students and you're going to teach them how to search and locate information, and you were bound to a school... where would you hide?" he asked his partner. It would require teamwork, and that's just about all they had.

Venser looked at the young boy with new eyes. When the black-haired youth had pulled him over, he'd assumed that the child was just as immature as the rest of the students; now, though, he seemed to have a decent head on those tiny shoulders. Perhaps he'd be more useful than Venser thought. "Well, she'll definitely be hidden well, so we have to check every nook and cranny...There are a few places that stick out. Check all of the storage closets and innocuous areas that people would be likely to overlook. Maybe the roof?...That'd probably be too obvious, but you never know. So, we'll head up to the roof, checking places along the way. That sound good?" He asked the younger boy. He would have also suggested splitting up, but that might end up backfiring since they had no way of communicating via distances without alerting the rest of the class. Plus, Venser kind of wanted to keep the child around; he was interested in seeing the young boy's potential.

He smiled at his friend. "Well, she'll definitely be hidden well, so we have to check every nook and cranny..." He was told. Of course that made sense... but by it making sense, would that teach anything? "There are a few places that stick out. Check all of the storage closets and innocuous areas that people would be likely to overlook. Maybe the roof?" Then it came to mind. He thought about it.. why would a ninja hide in a place that's obvious? She had to be hiding somewhere so obvious... but where? "That'd probably be too obvious, but you never know. So, we'll head up to the roof, checking places along the way. That sound good?" He listened, but then it came to him. "She would be hiding in in the last place we'd look." he said. And he was thinking of where he wouldn't think of...

"She'd be hiding in the last place we look," the boy said after Venser had finished, causing the former Planeswalker to, again, look at him with new eyes. This boy was certainly no slouch either; given time and the right upbringing, he may even rival Venser himself in terms of logical power. "You have a point," Venser said gruffly. "How about this, then: Since we don't know where she'll be hiding, we just check everywhere. Given your idea that she won't be hiding anywhere we would normally expect her to hide, we just check everything. It might not be the fastest route, but what other choice do we have? Unless you have some idea of where to look." For emphasis, he tore open the nearest closet, glancing inside to see if that was the one.

Shini smiled at the man. "I mean, it's in the classroom. What did you expect?" She vanished in a cloud of smoke and appeared behind the man. "The body flicker technique." She walked to the front of the room, and the other children began to walk in. She smiled and dragged her hand across the wood of the school's desks. He did quite enjoy teaching people how to be a ninja, after all, she taught Kaseki how to use his Jutsu.

"Everyone, take your seats." she commanded. She had laid out papers of each and every handsign. That was the first lesson, they they would learn Jutsu.

It was the same every year.

Venser took his seat and sat at a desk by the window, looking over the sheet. All of the hand signs seemed to be simple enough; with a few hours of going over it, he could memorize them with no problems. Instead, his mind turned to wondering why it was these particular gestures that caused this 'Chakra' substance to become concentrated. Was it the way the hands were placed? Could Chakra be generated in different ways? What kind of jutsus could he expect to learn from these hand signs? All of these questions raced through his mind as he waited for Shini to begin teaching.

Shini stood there, looking over her class. She knew the answer to them all. She could read their minds, well, at least their facial expressions. They were so eager to learn, but so naive. Even if they were smart, geniuses, they would have to spend time trying to learn the signs. And even if they did that, they would have no idea how to control their chakra. This was something they had to learn. The class would only get what they put in. And as far as it looked, they didn't put in much.

"Questions?" Shini asked.

This class was going to be different.

Venser looked up at Shini from the sheet, shaking his head lightly. It didn't matter if the hand signs took hours, days, or even weeks to memorize, honestly; after all, it wasn't like Venser had anything better to do. He desperately needed some semblance of power back, if only to fill the gaping hole the loss of his previous magical prowess had left; if he didn't fill it at least slightly soon, he suspected it would drive him mad. It didn't matter how hard he would have to work; stranded far away from any of his obligations and friends, he had both the willingness and the time to learn something, especially one as crucial as this.

He was ready.

Shini pointed at the white board behind her. "Chakra," she spoke, "This is the energy that flows through you." She put her hands together, almost clapping. "Kasekino: Reveal!" she said aloud. A strange red aura began to engulf her, almost looking like she was on fire. It lasted no more than a few seconds. Afterwards, she pointed at the board again. "In front of you, is 3 sheets of paper. Chakra flow, Chakra elements, and Natural Energy. Read them. Then I will continue the discussion."

And then the room fell silent.
