[D-rank job][Solo] Tea Time, with a hint of bodies and a dash of blood!

The distant thunder and lightning would normally be considered terrifying to young children. But that was nothing compared to the horror that Lexia felt as she saw the dead body on the dining room chair. The old lady grasped her hand, “You are able to get rid of this, yes?” She asked her, almost to reassure herself. “He lied again and again to me! Claimed that he didn’t want me dead, tried to make me drink that tea! So while he was out of the room, I switched the cups!”

Lexia slowly nodded, thinking that that would explain the man's horrified expression on his face. She had to admit that she would be pretty terrified if she tried to kill someone with a poisoned drink, only to find that it had been swapped. Lexia felt herself shiver. It would have been beyond terrifying.

“I can do that for you indeed.”

“Thank goodness! Thank goodness! I’ll never forget your kind deeds today, thank you ever so much!” The next thing Lexia knew the woman had thrown her arms around her, almost crying with relief into her shoulders. She mumbled, ranting on about her story and how it happened. Lexia almost pushed her off, hating that someone was so close to her. It felt so wrong. Hiding the urge to do so, she rose a hand to gently pat her back.

“It’s alright, you don’t need to worry about anything like this happening again.” Lexia tried to soothe her, the lady shaking as she continued to mumble, still ranting.

Lexia glanced up at the clock, slightly cringing when she saw that the woman had been crying on her for at least ten minutes, going on to how she was never going to be ready for her nephew to arrive. Awkwardly, she would force the woman to stop crying on her shoulder and she took her into her small lounge. After setting her down and calming her nerves, Lexia gave her a gentle smile.

“Don’t worry, I’ll deal with this mess. You go get ready for your nephew coming.”

As luck would have it, Lexia had noticed that the lady had a rather tall hedged back garden when she had approached the front of the house. Excusing herself from her company, Lexia made her way across to the backyard. Across the grass stood great plants, tall, fertile. A wide and mischievous grin formed on her face. It seemed as if the lady was planning to plant a rather large tree there, the potted plant sitting just next to the hole. Lex wasn’t entirely sure how she was meant to get rid of the body, but judging by the size of the plant...

She rushed over to the plant, her fingers tearing the giant pot away from the tree. Well, she tried to do that at least. It didn’t work so well. The resistance she felt from the plastic pot was more than she thought she would. The force she applied was enough to make her fall backwards.

Straight into the hole.

The task was tedious, hard to do... But eventually, Lexia made it out of the rather deep hole and had ripped away the pot from the plant. With a cry of success, Lex fell backwards again. Thankfully, this time, she didn’t land in the hole. Lexia made her way back inside, having to abandon her wet boots as the grass had been damp.

Now that she thought about it, it smelt as if it were going to rain.

Quickly grabbing the body, she pulled it out of the chair with a grunt. The old woman hurried her. Apparently, the nephew would be arriving within half an hour. She brushed aside the woman’s ushering, telling her to calm down. Then she dragged the body through the garden and to the hole.

Smirking, she pushed it in.

It was only thanks to her robotic arm that she was able to push the giant plant into the 4x4 foot hole. Oddly enough, the hole was much deeper than she was tall... The depth should be able to cover the potential scent of a decaying body. Just in case, Lexia also found a rather large dead rat, who had died due to poisoning, and planted that near the tree. Any sniffer dogs would smell that, give a false positive, and people would continue on their way. The hole was deep enough so that Lexia would be able to use the excess dirt to cover the plant, ensuring that it was a level surface at the top. No one would be able to tell that there was a crushed body under the tree.

Not unless the tree was dug up.

Rain started to pour down, saturating her and she cursed a little, removing her arm as she went to go inside. Only to hear footsteps coming from there, greetings exchanged. So far, the giant hedge had hidden her acts, but the only way out was through the house. Great. She tossed the arm in the bin. At least it would be kept safe from water. Getting on her hands and knees, Lex squeezed through a small gap, hiding under the home, rats, spiders and water from the rain rushing all around her.

Needless to say, it was a rather long four hours until the man left. After the lady called for her, she came back out from underneath the house, the rain washing off the dirt she had from her quick thinking. The elderly lady gave a sympathetic look and thanked her for planting her tree. Her next question left Lexia almost laughing from stress.

“Would you like a warm cup of tea?”

Little did Lexia know, the old woman was lying about who had given the drink to who... And performed the perfect act.

While they enjoyed the nice cup of drink, she happily informed Lex the real deed that happened.

Lex didn't finish that tea for her own safety.
